Daniel Ricciardo will start from pole position in the Monaco Grand Prix. The Australian set an outstanding lap recorded in 1:10.810. The Red Bull driver will be joined in the front row by Sebastian Vettel, who set his personal best in the last lap of the qualifying session.
Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen completed the second row of the starting grid, with Valtteri Bottas finishing fifth. Esteban Ocon did an outstanding job and managed to finish sixth, with Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez and Pierre Gasly completing the top ten.
Nico Hulkenberg missed the Q3 and had to settle for the eleventh place. Behind him, Stoffel Vandoorne, Sergey Sirotkin, Charles Leclerc and Romain Grosjean were the other four drivers who were eliminated in the second part of the qualifying session.
Brendon Hartley narrowly missed the qualification for Q2 and had to settle for the 16th place. Behind him, Marcus Ericsson, Lance Stroll, Kevin Magnussen and Max Verstappen were the other drivers eliminated in the first part of the qualifying session.
Verstappen was forced to miss out the qualifying session after he clipped the barriers of the Swimming Pool chicane during the third free practice session. The Dutchman had severe gearbox problems and the Red Bull engineers didn't manage to resolve the problem before the qualifying session started.
The Monaco Grand Prix race will commence tomorrrow at 2:10 GMT time.
