Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne has offered a more optimistic view for Formula 1's future, now claiming he is encouraged by Liberty Media's plans. Marchionne has previously threatened to pull Ferrari out of F1 if he wasn't satisfied with the shape of the future.
Marchionne's concerns came following Liberty's initial plans for engine rules in 2021. Both the Maranello team and Mercedes voiced its disapproval over the initial proposals, which have since transformed into a much more detailed plan.
"What you have to bear in mind is that Ferrari will continue to race. It's in our blood. We will continue to show our abilities," Marchionne said. "I am encouraged by the change of attitude and we have enough to discuss. We will reach a conclusion by the end of the year."
Ferrari has enjoyed its start to the 2018 season, winning two out of the opening four races. Marchionne claims that the team is in a great spot with the car, and that it is the most promising machine the team has built since he joined Ferrari.
"We are in a phenomenal condition with the car," he is quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport. "We were unlucky in Baku, but it is the most promising car since I've been here. Both of our drivers are encouraged and there are still developments that will be seen later in the season. It is important for Ferrari to be the winner in F1," he said.

Oh what a surprise... I guess he's done bluffing. Nobody ever believed his bullshit. They are more involved and committed to F1 than ever before. Furthermore, they have the best car on the grid for the first time in a decade.
