The FIA has made some changes to the controversial kerbs at the Red Bull Ring. In yesterday's practice sessions, some drivers suffered damage after running wide over the kerbs, including Romain Grosjean who suffered a front left puncture.
Last season also saw a number of problems with the kerbs, with the FIA making changes for the event this year. The spacing between the 'baguette' kerbs increased to 3.2m. However, Max Verstappen stated that those types of kerbs have no place in Formula 1.
Also deeply unhappy was Williams' Felipe Massa: "It is not good that the kerbs are damaging the cars, kerbs are there for other reasons. It can happen that you can make a mistake and go wide, but the car should not take damage so easily."
At Turn 9, the kerb has been repaired as the soil behind the gully became more exposed than what was ideal. At Turn 10, two of the 'baguette' kerbs have been moved closer to the track to allow drivers who run wide at Turn 9 to re-join the track without running over them.

If the kerbs break your car, don't make the mistake of driving on them. It's idiotic how for the second race in a row, the track gets altered to suit the drivers. The drivers should adapt to the situation. I can't imagine a rally stage being altered during the weekend, because the drivers aren't happy with certain rocks on the road. Rally drivers adapt to the circuit, and you would expect F1 drivers to be capable of doing the same.
