The world championship leader Lewis Hamilton has said that he is "paying no attention" to any mistakes that his rival Sebastian Vettel has made this season. Hamilton currently leads the driver's championship by 50 points, after he took a controversial win in Sochi where he was gifted the victory by teammate Valtteri Bottas.

This huge advantage in the championship also comes from the fact that Vettel has made a few rather costly unforced errors this season, the most notable of which being his crash at his home race in Germany. He also had a couple of first lap incidents, once in France and then again at Ferrari's home race in Italy.

Hamilton said: “Honestly I’ve paid no attention to it in the sense in questioning myself as to why it is. It’s not something I really think about. All I think about is how I can be the best I can be and all I can have an impact on is on myself and in what I do so that’s literally just what I focus on.”

“Everyone has weaknesses and every year I try and work on those weaknesses. One year, it could be one thing and the thing that was great the previous year could be off the following year because you focus on another area."

“Everyone has weaknesses, it’s just about trying to find the best average I guess of your capabilities. You’re going to have strong points and areas that you’re not as good but you can focus on those and try to improve them. I think naturally it is such a close and intense battle that even the smallest incident that we have it is magnified.”

Think the issue here is the smallest snippet of a quote in probably a longer conversation, spun out to be an earth shattering piece of news, which it isn't - not even in the slightest. Says more about there lack of insight on this website?
