Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has confirmed that the team will appeal the FIA's decision to disqualify Romain Grosjean from the Italian Grand Prix. Following the race at Monza on Sunday, Renault filed an official complaint against the American team.

Renault protested the legality of the VF-18, and an investigation was undertaken. A number of hours after the chequered flag dropped, It was determined that the floor of Haas' car did not comply with regulations.

"The reference plane of car number 08 is found not to be in compliance with Article 3.7.1 d) and the clarifications given in TD/033-18 published on 25 July 2018," read a statement from the FIA. "The surface formed by all parts lying on the reference plane must have a 50mm radius (+/-2mm) on each front corner when viewed from directly beneath the car, this being applied after the surface has been defined."

Grosjean was stripped of the eight points he bagged for Haas, which moved the outfit into fourth place in the constructor's standings. However, it has now been pushed back down to fifth, and Steiner confirmed on Sunday night that it would appeal the decision.

"We do not agree with the Stewards' decision to penalize our race team and we feel strongly that our sixth-place finish in the Italian Grand Prix should stand. We are appealing the Stewards' decision," he said.

So give a monetary penalty Dalarra and "MAYBE" 5 points to Haas .... Why does the driver suffer for what his bum can't tell him?

because it's possible the oversized elements gave him more down force and made him faster than he really was
