Formula 1 CEO Chase Carey says the sport has become much "more fun" under the reign of Liberty MEdia. Liberty acquired the commercial rights to F1 at the start of 2017, with Carey, Sean Bratches and Ross Brawn taking over the roles and responsibilities previously held by Bernie Ecclestone.
Carey has outlined his plans numerous times for the future of F1, with one of the main goals being allowing closer access for the fans. In Liberty's year and a half in charge, it has organised extra events at Grand Prix weekends, as well as setting up F1 focused events in major cities.
"It's too early to celebrate," Carey told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But it's interesting that in Germany some people came to me and said that it was more fun than it was two years ago. We are well on the way to improving the show on and off the track. We've seen some great races and the fight at the top is very exciting," Carey added.
"Formula 1 is all about the heroes, who stimulate people's imaginations, just like in the movies," said Carey. "We have strong brands and great teams here, but ultimately it's the drivers who play the main role in this sport," he added.
