After an unfortunate incident that took place at the end of the third free practice, Max Verstappen had to start last in the Monaco Grand Prix race. After a more calm approach, the Red Bull driver finished today's race ninth after a solid performance.
“I think we maximised the result. At the end there was a bit of train from P4 to P9. I don’t think there was anything more we could have done from last.” Verstappen said
“I was enjoying myself out there. Starting last I got two places from the start which was good.” he continued.
“Well today I just didn’t want to go to risky and have a crash. I cannot be in that position now,” Verstappen added. “I did everything with a certain margin. I knew if I had taken a bit more risk then I still wouldn’t have got past them.” he concluded.
Max Verstappen currently sits sixth in the Drivers Championship with 35 points score in the first six rounds of the 2018 season. The next round will take place in Canada between 8-10 June.
