Daniel Ricciardo set the fastest lap in the third free practice of the Monaco Grand Prix. The Australian driver set an outstanding 1:11.786 and managed to surpass his teammate, Max Verstappen.
The Dutchman had a dramatic crash with five minutes left before the checkered flag. Although he crashed, he managed to finish second. He set a personal best in 1:11.787, only 0.001 behind Ricciardo.
Sebastian Vettel closed the gap in FP3. The German driver came nearly three tenths behind the two Red Bulls. Behind him, Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton completed the top five, while Valtteri Bottas ended sixth.
Toro Rosso did an outstanding leap of form today, with Brendon Hartley and Pierre Gasly managing to finish FP3 seventh and eight. The top ten was completed by Carlos Sainz Jr. and Sergey Sirotkin.
Stoffel Vandoorne was once again the fastest McLaren. The Belgian finished 11th, with Alonso only 15th. Between them, Esteban Ocon, Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg finished 12th, 13th and 14th.
Lance Stroll improved a bit in FP3 and finished 16th ahead of the local hero, Charles Leclerc. The Haas pair had another lacklustre session and finished only 18th (Grosjean) and 19th (Magnussen). Marcus Ericsson finished last.
The qualifying session for the Monaco Grand Prix will start at 2PM GMT time .
