Haas F1 Team will not fire mechanics after blunders

Gunther Steiner says Haas will line up with the same set of mechanics next weekend in Bahrain. Although it looked like technical glitches, the American team's boss confirmed that it was simple finger trouble that meant Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean retired within minutes following bungled pitstops in Australia.

"Why should we keep complaining?" Steiner told Blick newspaper. "Those responsible know they were to blame -- the wheel guns, the nuts and the hubs are the same as in 2017," he added.

"No one will be fired. Maybe the pressure of the two most important pitstops since our entry in 2016 was simply too great. Now we have to work harder with the same crew. The car is very good, which is why we can go with optimism to Bahrain and everywhere else," Steiner added.

Grosjean confirmed: "The only consolation is that I've never had such a good car in formula one." (GMM)

That is very good to hear. Everyone can make a mistake. Yes, this was a gigantic mistake that cost the team a lot of points, but I'm sure those same mechanics will work a lot harder and never let something like that to happen again

    • Indeed. I hope and think they'll nail it the next time around. I'd love for Haas to do well. We need some mixing up.

If people saw after the grandprix, Romain grosjean went and saw the guys sat out the back of the garage.
The guys were absalutely gutted, and replacing people after this would just have the opposite effect of team building.

These guys will work harder to not let this happen again, and build a stronger set up

That’s not the gutted look. That’s the normal slack-jawed look of Morons. They have like five things to get right while a driver has to get dozens of things right. They are still lots smarter than their Mercedes counterparts though. The Mercedes pit-stop plan worked at that next level below Moron, I think. What do you call it? Imbecile?
