Kevin Magnussen has pledged to "give it everything" at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The race marks the end of an exciting season of Formula 1 racing, where new aerodynamic regulations came into force.

Describing his qualifying efforts, Magnussen said that his result was better than the team's average. The Dane will line-up on the grid in fourteenth, and managed to outqualify teammate Romain Grosjean. Magnussen believes he was on the back-foot after missing FP1, as Antonio Giovinazzi stepped into the car.

"I think we’ve been better here than our average," he said. "If you take away the likes of Australia, Austria, Silverstone, this is probably our average position or there about. I don’t think it’s that bad. We’ve done well to get back after missing FP1 which, unfortunately, I’ve had to a few times this year."

Magnussen has gained the reputation of F1's bad boy' in 2017, after a number of on-track occurrences this year. Heading into the Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, the 25-year-old said that he will be giving it his all in order for a strong result.

"We’ve managed things well with the change in temperature with doing FP1 and FP3 in the sun, then FP2 and qualifying in the dark, where track temperature drops a lot and affects the tyres a lot. It’s not an easy one to get right and I didn’t think we did a bad job with it. There’s nothing to lose tomorrow, so we’re going to go for it and give it everything."

  • As long as he remember that he is a racer, not a member of the Danish rugby team, Im sure he can do well in this race.
