Lewis Hamilton will run the Halo in the first practice session at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps today. Also running the device will be Stoffel Vandoorne of McLaren, who is enjoying his maiden home Grand Prix, and Marcus Ericsson of Sauber.
After the British Grand Prix, the FIA confirmed that the Halo would be making its way into the 2018 regulations. It has caused a cry of concern, with many fans upset by the way it looks, and more recently technical directors saying that its introduction will disrupt the ongoing plans for 2018 cars.
Most teams are now finalizing their chassis plans for the car next year, but have not considered the Halo into it, as it was only recently announced. Force India's Otmar Szafnauer admitted that the team may miss the first week of pre-season testing due to the lateness of the confirmation.
