'No sense if Charles Leclerc doesn't get F1 seat'

Prema team manager Rene Rosin says that there will be no more sense in Formula 1 if Charles Leclerc does not get signed to a seat for 2018. Currently, the Ferrari junior driver is dominating the Formula 2 championship and has been unmatched all year.

Many are linking the 19-year-old to take up a seat with Sauber for 2018, who recently signed a multi year deal to run with Ferrari power. Leclerc won the GP3 championship in 2016 before graduating to Formula 2. Rosin also stated that former GP2 drivers Antonio Giovinazzi and Pierre Gasly should have places in F1.

"Drivers like Antonio, like Pierre, like Charles should be in Formula 1 because they fully deserve it," Rosin told Autosport. "How Charles is managing everything this year is something really incredible so he really deserves a chance. I think that they have to put him in the car, otherwise what's the sense of the junior formulas?

"What's the sense of Formula 1 either if we are not able to promote the best drivers to the field? Stoffel Vandoorne now is in Formula 1, but also in the beginning he was parked in Super Formula. If these drivers are not able to get into Formula 1, what is the sense in having Formula 2, Formula 3 and Formula 4 - these kids are all dreaming of F1, and if they're not able to do that there's no sense in it."

There are a few drivers that should just leave Formula 1 and make room for exciting talent. That list should at least include the following:
Massa, Raikkonen, Palmer, Ericsson, Kviat

Its almost as if the Team Managers are content with the status quo and do not really want an exceptional driver to take them to the front.

  Agreed! I would only give Kvyat one more opportunity. Not so long ago he was in an RB car doing good, before Marko gave way to a certain starlet driver...
  He is a wild driver atm, but so was Grosjean.

Time for a few new teams to enter in F1. And give the low level teams a bonus if the allow a young rookie in the team. That should help.

  A new team would be nice, but I dont think anyone is ready to go in there now, especially when we'll have new regulations within 3 years or so on the engine side.

No manufacturer is coming in until the engines are switched back to something reasonable.
I doubt anyone wants to come in this late and embarrass themselves. Look at Honda. They started 1 year late and still can't make an engine last more than 1 race without blowing up. If 2020 brings twin turbo 6's with a single kers, we should see a full grid within a year of the new regs. If they stay with these rediculously complex "power units", F1 will be the same players for a good while. I personally would like to open things up. 4,6,8,10,12 cyl, turbos whatever they want. Just limit the amount of fuel the car can carry but don't limit flow rates. We could see all sorts of fun. :)

If anyone deserves an F1 seat looking at the way they have dominated F2, getting pole every race, it's Leclerc. He obviously won't go straight to Ferrari, they Perez who had been In the sport two years was two inexperienced so they won't go for a rookie, but surely the Ferrari sauber deal was to put at least him, if not him and giovinazzi in the team

  Depends how many millions Ferrari thinks its worth to buy a seat for one of their juniors. They haven't been so keen on it before.
