There will be a new exhibition opened in 2018 which will celebrate the career of Michael Schumacher. The legendary driver retired from Formula 1 in 2012, before he was involved in a life changing skiing accident just over a year later.

The true extent of the German's conditions remains unknown to the general public. Now, however, one can get very close to the most famous memorabilia from Schumacher's career, including some of his cars, at the Butzweilerhof Airport in Cologne.

Also on display will be trophies and racing suits. Confirmed to be placed in the exhibition is the Mercedes W03, the last car the seven-time champion raced. Schumacher made his debut for Jordan in 1991 before an immediate switch to Bennetton. After racing at the British team for a number of years, he moved to Ferrari where he created his legacy in F1.

A retirement at the end of 2006 saw him out of the sport for three years, before he made his return in 2010, racing for Mercedes. There is already another exhibition focused around Schumacher in Marburg. Not much is known about the upcoming one. On the Thursday of the Belgian Grand Prix, his manager Sabine Kehm and Henriette Reker, the Mayor of Cologne, will hold a press conference.
