Having already withdrawn from yesterday's Hungarian Grand Prix due to illness, Williams' Felipe Massa will now miss the subsequent in-season Hungaroring test so that he can recuperate fully.
The Brazilian fell ill on Friday, complaining of dizziness, and was duly replaced with Williams reserve driver Paul di Resta for the rest of the weekend. The test will see Massa's team-mate Lance Stroll drive on Tuesday and F2 racer Luca Ghiotto take over on Wednesday as Massa travels home.
The next stop on the F1 calendar is the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of August, and Williams tech boss Paddy Lowe has said that the team hopes Massa will have recovered by then. "I think we're optimistic," he stated. "It would be a really great shame if he wasn't ready for Spa. That's four weeks away so he ought to be in good shape by then."
