Codemasters has released the next batch of classic cars that will feature in the F1 2017 game. So far, there have been a number of cars from throughout Formula 1 history featured in the game, with the game manufacturing company now revealing the four from McLaren.
McLaren MP4/4
F1 cars don't come any more legendary than this. Statistically, the McLaren MP4/4 is the most dominant car in F1 history, taking 15 pole positions and winning 15 out of the 16 races in the 1988 season. Driven by Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost, the car delivered Senna his first world championship.
McLaren MP4/6
The MP/6 was another successful car produced by McLaren. Senna took his final world championship in the car, partnering Gerhard Berger. Between them, they took 8 wins, 7 of them coming from Senna. The car delivered the team's fourth successive constructors championship.
MP4-13
The car that delivered Mika Hakkinen his first world title was also the last year that McLaren won the constructor title. The car proved to be the class of the 1998 field, winning 9 races and claiming pole position on a whopping 12 occasions, with David Coulthard aiding McLaren's title win.
MP4-23
The MP4-23 stands for the last time a driver won a championship while racing a McLaren. One year after announcing his arrival in Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton fought a hard and intense battle against the Ferrari of Felipe Massa for the 2008 driver championship. On his way to title success, Hamilton won six races and gathered a further 5 podiums, with teammate Heikki Kovalainen winning his one and only F1 race in the machine.
