Former Dutch prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende says that he hopes the power and influence of Max Verstappen will get the Dutch Grand Prix back on the Formula 1 calendar. The last time a race was held in The Netherlands was 1985.
Recently, rumours have been linking the race to be bidding for a comeback, either on Zandvoort, where it was previously held, or Assen. Balkenende was a guest at the British Grand Prix and has a long and enthusiastic interest in motor racing
"If together we say we want to return to formula one, we must collectively put our shoulders to the wheel," he is quoted by De Telegraaf newspaper. "Verstappen controls all facets of the business, in the car but also outside of it. Formula 1has reached a whole new dimension with Max."
