Force India has played the first step to re-naming the squad. Earlier this week, we reported that the team would be requesting a name change to Force One, and it now seems that the team is beginning the process. Documents that state Force One Grand Prix, Force One Racing, Force One Team, Force One Technologies, Force One Hospitality, and Force One Brand have been registered in Britain.
The only registered director so far is Thiruvannamalai Laskshimi Kanthan, who is an accountant, financial advisor and long-time ally of team owner Vijay Mallya. The deal to change the name is being done to give the team a much stronger international image.
Mallya also said that the new name could potentially bring in many more sponsors. Despite the plans, the team is yet to officially make an application to the FIA to change its name. Granting the FIA has no issues with the name, it looks set that the Silverstone based squad will start the 2018 season as 'Force One'.

Not a big fan of the new name. It sounds hokey. I wasn't a fan of the old name either, though.
Even though the part about making it for international is not the whole reason for the change, I do think it will help them attract sponsors etc. by ditching India as part of their name.
