Ferrari has jumped out of the blocks on a mission this season, taking a title challenge to Mercedes. Mercedes dominated the sport from 2014 to 2016, winning 86% of all the races in that three year period.
However, in the wake of new aerodynamic regulations brought in for the 2017 season, Ferrari has risen to the challenge and currently lead the constructor standings after the first seven races of the season. Despite being outclassed last in Canada, Raikkonen believes they can maintain the lead right up until the end of the season.
"It will be an exciting fight and that's fine. We just need to make sure we maximise our chances each weekend. There is no reason to think we will get a relapse now. Some people are a bit sceptical but I think Ferrari can maintain this until the end.
"We are in a much better position than before and I am sure we will develop our package at least as good as the competition. It is a long year and an intense struggle. It is important always to exploit our potential, give more and more whether it's a good or bad weekend."
