Mercedes has denied that they are set to pull the plug on their Formula 1 journey after the 2018 season. Recently, former team owner Eddie Jordan predicted that the Silver Arrows will no longer feel the need to compete beyond next season, and will, therefore, quit the sport.
Mercedes has since denied these comments. The team has a contract in place until the end of 2020, and are already in discussion about extending it further, a spokesperson said.
"Monaco is a place where people like to party and it seems like somebody did a bit too much of that," the statement read. "The reports are completely baseless and reflect nothing more than the mischievous speculation of one individual.
"Mercedes has firm contracts for its participation in Formula 1 until the end of 2020 - and is currently in discussions about the next competitive cycle with the sport's new owners."

Yeah, I dont think A Mercedes departure is likely. As long as there is at least some hybrid bits on the PU, Mercedes will be committed to F1 after the next regulation change. They are far too hungry to quit even if they lose this season.
