Force India team principal Vijay Mallya states he is over the moon with how the team has been performing so far. As of the Spanish Grand Prix, Force India have claimed a double points finish in every race so far this season, an achievement that leaves them with 53 points in the championship.
At Force India's official launch of the VJM10 back in February, Mallya said that the team were targeting third place in the constructor standings. While fourth may be more realistic, only 19 points separate Red Bull in third and Force India in fourth. Nevertheless, Mallya is happy with the form they've shown so far.
"I am very pleased with our performance during the first quarter of the season 53 points in five races is a huge achievement and I am proud that Sahara Force India has been able to consolidate its fourth place in the championship."
As Formula 1 travels to Monaco, it will be a place of happy memories for Force India, as last season Sergio Perez claimed a podium around the principality, finishing only behind Lewis Hamilton and Daniel Ricciardo.
"We should simply stay consistent and score points every race again," Mallya added. "Monaco has always been strong for us and our podium in Monaco last year was a special moment. The memories are still very strong."
