Scuderia Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel thinks that he could fare better in tomorrow's race after qualifying second for Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix.
The German was two-tenths shy of Lewis Hamilton's time and only edged Valtteri Bottas by the skin of his teeth after Saturday's qualifying session.
Vettel was quizzed on how important he feels having a front row grid slot is ahead of tomorrow's potentially wet Grand Prix.
"We will see tomorrow how important being on front row is. if we could have been a bit quicker it would have been even nicer. Maybe I chickened on the brakes slightly on the last lap. It was very close to Valtteri so thankfully we got enough margin to get on the front row,"
What is clear from the Australian Grand Prix is that the Prancing Horse is stronger over a race distance and Vettel thinks there is more to come from the Maranello-based squad.
"Our car is strong no matter what. I think we can still improve. The conditions will be quite different."
