In a few hours time the new season of Formula 1 will officially be underway. After two weeks of winter testing done and filming days completed, 10 teams and 20 drivers are ready to hit the track.
Red Bull kept to a quiet pre-season test, not setting any spectacular lap times despite having high expectations for the season ahead. In Barcelona, the team tested with the shark fin (as did all teams), however, it seems things will be slightly different when the cars take to the track in Melbourne.
Drivers Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo told the press a little about the changes: "You will see it during free practice, it will look slightly different on the outside."
Sources in Australia told our editorial team: "Looking to the configurations during winter testing, high rake (car height at the back of the RBR), the mystery and the signals from inside the team, it looks like Red Bull will surprise the paddock and start racing in Melbourne without the shark fin.
"They're the only team we did not see with the shark fin in the pitlane so far. They're hiding it on purpose from the cameras. On the other side it's not really surprising if they will not run the shark fin as Red Bull is a team which experiments with aerodynamic parts"
