Nico Hulkenberg was pleased to finish of Renault's pre-season testing on a high note after there were some struggles with reliability throughout the two weeks.
The Enstone based team hit a number of problems in Barcelona, mainly through the car of Jolyon Palmer, which hampered the teams running on some days.
Renault set the second least number of laps in last week's test, but Hulkenberg's fastest lap was a 1:19.885, which, for Renault was the sixth fastest.
On the final day of testing, Hulkenberg set 45 laps without any issues, before team mate Palmer set 43 laps on the same day without incurring any problems. Hulkenberg is now extremely optimistic heading into the new racing season.
"It was a productive final morning of the test for me with a lot of work completed. We answered some of the questions we had from the previous days and we made some more progress with the car, which is all you can want.
"We’ve tried a lot of set-ups over the course of the two tests; some were good and some were not so good, but the result is we know where to go with the car. It was good to get out there and have a few more performance orientated runs, but we know there’s a lot more to come."
