Felipe Nasr's father feels that his son's points in Brazil will help him secure a drive in Formula One in 2017.
Although Nasr's Sauber seat is unsafe and Manor's future as a team looking bleak, Samir Nasr feels that his ninth place finish at Interlagos won't hinder his hopes of a 2017 seat like some have predicted.
"The points he got in Brazil can change a lot for him," Nasr Sr. told Brazil's UOL.
Nasr's Banco do Brazil funding is thought to be under threat, leaving Mercedes-backed PAscal Wehrlein favourite to claim his seat at the Swiss team, but Samir Nasr disagrees.
"The other driver can bring $5 million, but on the track, my son has made over $11 million for the team."
"The problem is that the smaller teams have become like an auction - the one who brings more, with the sports in the background."
"But we are seeking sponsorship," Samir added. "I think things can change now with this result."

It's F1, everybody knows you pay to play, one way or another. I was actually expecting to see more performance and less attitude from Nasr this year. Contrast him to Sainz for example and I just don't think he is what the big teams are looking for.
