Brazilian newspaper, Dario Motorsport has reported that
Williams will be sponsored by the popular drinks brand Martini in 2014. Although no official announcement have been made, various international sources are quoting that the deal is done.
It is known however, that Martini will be the teams' title sponsor, following the loss of PDVSA following
Pastor Maldonado's move to
Lotus.
The deal will see a secure financial backing for the British-squad following a tough 2013 campaign, with the team matching their previous worst result of only 5 points scored all season.
Martini first entered Formula 1 in 1972 with the Italian-run Tecno team, they also sponsored Lotus in the late 1970's. Following a long break, they returned to the sport in 2006 with Scuderia
Ferrari.
Williams are switching to
Mercedes power from 2014, having run the
Renault V8 for the past two seasons.
The team are expected to unveil the new livery and partnership on the morning of the first day at the Jerez test on January 28th.
