Kevin Magnussen: "I am really excited about my next adventure"

Kevin Magnussen is looking forward to a winter without uncertainty for the first time in his Formula One career.

The Dane was dropped by McLaren prior to 2015 in favour of Jenson Button, and then was released by the team completely a year later, only to be snapped up by Renault earlier this year to replace the cash-strapped Pastor Maldonado.

In 2017 he will race for Haas after rejecting an 11th hour approach from Renault to keep him for another season.

"It is the first time I will go into next season knowing I am in F1 straight away. I haven't had a proper off-season preparing for next season and this is my first time properly continuing so it feels good. I am really excited about my next adventure," he said. "We will try to finish off this season on a good note and a good result hopefully."

Despite a tough year with Renault and rumours of an acrimonious split, Magnussen insists he ahas fond memories of his time with the Anglo-French team.

"From a results view it has been tough to score points on three occasions. It has been a little bit frustrating and tough but it has also been a very fun season with Renault, there are a lot of really cool guys and girls here," he said. "It has been fun working with them and travelling around with them."
