Team boss at Force India Bob Fernley believes that Force India can finish third next year in the constructor standings, if they build the right car.
The team pulled off their best ever result this year after a season long battle with Williams saw them take fourth in the standings.
Fernley thinks the Silverstone based team can go even further next season.
“This year we went in with a very clear view of being able to consolidate fifth place but with an eye on fourth,” he said.
“I think we should go in next year with a plan to consolidate fourth but with an eye on third.”
Fernley was then asked which of the top three teams (Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari) they can overtake, to which he responded: “Whichever one gets it wrong!"
“Assuming we get it right of course, but there’s always that risk.”
Fernley admitted that it may be hard for Force India to catch up to the top three due to having a smaller budget.
“Where the bigger teams will benefit is it will be a development race and they can keep throwing things at it because they’ve got unlimited budgets, effectively,” he said.
“You just throw things at it all the time, whereas our approach will have to be more measured and we will have to make each development count.”

Im doubt the possibility of that, but it'll be interesting to see if they can get up there.
