Rosbergs reject Lewis Hamilton criticism

Keke and Nico Rosberg refused to criticise Lewis Hamilton's slow driving tactics at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Hamilton slowed his pace dramatically in the hope that Rosberg would be passed by rivals, giving Hamilton the title.

The tactic didn't work, however, but both Rosbergs don't think what Hamilton did was wrong.

"It was not unexpected," said 1982 champion Keke Rosberg.

"In the last two laps I might have even expected more, so you have to say that it was okay," he added. "I think it was the hardest world championship ever, right down to the line of the last race."

Nico Rosberg meanwhile admitted that while Hamilton's tactics made the race stressful, what he did was "perfect" in the situation.

"Ridiculous," he described the scenario as at first. "No, no, no, ridiculous is the wrong word," he added. "It was ridiculously intense - for me."

Keke Rosberg meanwhile rejected Hamilton's claim that reliability problems were behind him missing out on the title.

"That is the sport," Rosberg Snr. said. "Button broke his suspension in Abu Dhabi because he hit the kerb so hard he was lucky the car didn't break in two, but he said 'Oh, bad car'."

"It is the nature of the drivers," he added. "I thought Lewis was lucky twice already, so why shouldn't Nico be once?"
