Force India's deputy team principal Bob Fernley has again reiterated that Sergio Perez has a contract woth the team and will remain with them next season.
Although signed, Perez has insisted that his future in fact lies in the hands of his backers amid links Renault, Williams, and Haas.
But Fernley insistst that Perez will honour his contract, reminding the press in Malaysia that team principal Vijay Mallya has already announced the team's 2017 driver lineup.
"No, there’s nothing else," he said. "The driver contracts have been completed for quite some time, as you know."
"Vijay announced that some time ago and it’s literally dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on the commercial side and if it takes a week, that’s wonderful, if it takes a couple of weeks, so be it," he added. "It’ll happen, we’re very confident that Checo will be with us next year. I don’t think we ever deviated from that."
