Hockenheim boss Georg Seiler says the venue does not have a contract to host the German Grand Prix in 2017.
The FIA published a provisional calendar for 2017 earlier this week, all but confirming a return for Hockenheim.
However, Seiler has admitted that the track has signed nothing for next year yet.
"At the moment we do not have a contract for 2017," he told the German news agency SID.
Speculation points at F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone becoming a semi-promoter of the race, taking ticket receipts in exchange for a lower sanctioning fee, however, Hockenheim doesn't want to host an event which could see them operating at a loss.

Oh dear, I'd be so disappointed if Germany wasnt on the calendar next year, there are so many good tracks there.
