Toro Rosso to Split their Packages

Toro Rosso will run two different packages at this weekend's race at Singapore.

Friday's Practice saw Carlos Sainz Jr test the new updates only on  his car, while Daniil Kvyat had the old specification. The team have come to the conclusion that both old and new package are similar in regards to it's performance. Which will mean that for the remainder of the weekend, Sainz will have the update and Kvyat will carry on with the old one.

Toro Rosso currently lie 7th in the championship and are only three points off sixth place, Mclaren Honda. The STR11 has a 2015 Ferrari Power Unit, which means they have not received any engine updates throughout the year. So, with any kind of aerodynamic update, it must have considerable gains if they are to take sixth place in the championship.

Carlos Sainz has said that Marina Bay presents the teams best chance to score some serious points.

"It was a better day...finally,

You can see some happy faces around because it is definitely a circuit that is suiting us much more.

We are using less than half of the lap full throttle so we are losing time in only half of the lap, unlike Monza where we were losing for 80/90% of the lap.

Q3 is a possibility, but it will be much more difficult than"

It has been three pointless races for Toro Rosso, their last point was earned back in Hungary in July.
