Luca di Montezemolo has denied making further comments this week about the condition of Michael Schumacher.
A number of authoritative media outlets on Tuesday quoted the former Ferrari president as telling 'Ecunemical News' that Schumacher was "reacting" to treatment.
However, Spain's El Mundo Deportivo said : "They are not new, but date back to May 2016" regarding Montezemolo's alleged comments.
Official updates on the seven-time Formula One world champions condition have been scarce with his manager Sabine Kehm closely guarding their privacy.
German newspaper Bild, which has covered Schumacher's career and life, also refuted the reports, saying Schumacher's condition "has not changed appreciably".
And Sky Italia has quoted a spokesman for Montezemolo as also denying he made any comments this week about the ex-Ferrari driver's health.
"He never made such statements and has not spoken about Schumacher's health for several months," he said, adding that the latest reports are "totally unfounded".
