Public interest in Formula One in Germany seems to be dwindling after entire grandstands were spotted covered at the Hockenheimring.
Turn one grandstands are covered with large advertising canvases of Formula One sponsor Rolex, this comes after the circuit set a target to sell 60,000 tickets but at last count they were 14,000 short of that number.
Sebastian Vettel said earlier this week that he hoped his first race in Germany for Ferrari would drum up some interest as it would evoke memories of Michael Schumacher's glory years - a time when grandstands at both Hockenheim and then-Europen Grand Prix venue were filled.
Not a promising sign... most of T1 grandstands covered up. I sat there in 2004 (Schumi era), it was full (and noisy) pic.twitter.com/HXZVNhpZLN
