Basketball star Dirk Nowitzki said he hoped some "positive energy" was beamed back to Michael Schumacher on Wednesday after he organised a charity football match featuring a handful of Formula One drivers.
The NBA star organised the match in Mainz, Germany, and it featured the likes of Sebastian Vettel, Mika Hakkinen, Schumacher's former Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa and his 17-year-old son Mick.
"The fact that Mick is here makes the evening even a little emotional," Nowitzki told Bild newspaper. "I hope that we can send Michael a little positive energy and show him that the people have not forgotten you, and that you are still their idol," he added.
