Haas F1 Team driver Esteban Gutierrez has said that he will be in Formula One next year, but refused to elaborate further.
The Mexican has struggled to score points so far this season, a year that has been blighted by poor luck for him, but he confirmed that his plans for next year are already in place.
"I know what I’ll be doing next year," he said.
When pressed if that response meant that he would be remaining in F1, Gutierrez said: "Yes I will of course, this is what I want and this is what I am here for."
However, he refused to reveal which team he would be with.
"I’m sorry but I cannot be very explicit on that," said the former Sauber driver.
Despite a tough 2016 so far, the 24-year-old said that scoring points should be attainable should a weekend go his way.
"[It] Should be pretty straightforward to achieve it, having a normal weekend," he said. "The good thing about here [at the Hungaroring] is the temperatures – every time we have low temperatures, we struggle more with the tyres, here, for sure, it’ll be pretty hot. Hopefully, Hockenheim as well."
