Bernie Ecclestone happy with 'Brexit' vote

Bernie Ecclestone says Britain exiting the European Union is the right thing, even for formula one. In an historic referendum held last Thursday, citizens of the United Kingdom voted to leave Europe, which triggered a decline in financial markets and the pound hitting a 30-year low.

Spain's AS sports newspaper speculated that the vote could now lead to some of F1's many UK-based teams deciding the leave England -- Mercedes, for instance, to Germany, Red Bull to Italy (Faenza), and Renault to France. But F1 supremo Ecclestone has played down the 'Brexit' saga.

"I think it's the best thing. We should be ruling ourselves," he is quoted by the Mirror. "If we've got something to sell, and it's a good product at the right price, people will buy whether they are Chinese, Italian or German. People will just get over this and get on with their lives," the 85-year-old added.

However, before the votes were cast, Ron Dennis warned of the consequences of Britain leaving the EU. The McLaren supremo joined business leaders in signing a letter saying Brexit would "deter investment, threaten jobs and put the economy at risk".

And Dennis told The Times that "Remaining in Europe is fundamental to the prosperity of the McLaren business". But writing in Autoweek, F1 business journalist Christian Sylt said Brexit is actually a $180 million win for the sport as most of its deals are in US dollars. (GMM)

I do believe I said "AS is hardly a reliable source, so dont trust what they write too much: half of their content is made up" in one of my earlier posts, so no dear Vet, you are not the only one, and I doubt anyone believes Red Bull is moving anywhere anyway, it simply wouldnt make sense for them.

Redbull to Faenza, I think you mean Toro Rosso (Italian for Red Bull), I think some people that write these articles need to do homework. Teams won't be affected though, everybody seems to think it will due to trade agreements, but how many European races do we have? 5 I think off the top of my head, so I don't see this posing a problem

  Its definitely Toro Rosso if its Faenza we're talking about. Red Bull has their base in Britain. Well, both are Red Bull really, just different names and outfits.

  I don't know. Contact AS Sports. But they were talking about Red Bull moving, not Toro Rosso.

  Its about a potential move to Faenza from England to escape the Brexit. In any case, AS is hardly a reliable source, so dont trust what they write too much: half of their content is made up.

  So yes, they are talking about Red Bull here. Toro Rosso is currently based in Faenza, which is why I figured it must be them they were talking about.

  Yes they say Redbull, but this information is wrong, if AS Sports said Mercedes was going to move their base to Italy would you believe it? RB won't be moving.

  They didn't state that Mercedes would move to Italy (they said Mercedes F1 team would move to Germany). And I'm not saying the info is correct either. I'm just saying that your comments are not what is written in the article.
  
  And just to be ahead of you: yeah Mercedes Benz headquarters are in Germany. Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team however has its headquarters in Brackley, Northamptonshire UK. Hence the idea that if they would move their headquarters it would be to Germany.

  Obviously you cant read my friend, I said IF AS sports said Mercedes were moving to Italy, WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT? I didn't say they were or that the article stipulated this. Yes well done, you know they operate out of Brackley, I think nowadays we all know that, McLaren out of Woking, Force india out of Silverstone etc etc. But read what I am saying.............AS SPORTS ARE WRONG SAYING REDBULL COULD BE MOVING TO ITALY AS THEY SOLELY OPERATE OUT OF MILTON KEYNES, I SAID THEY MUST MEAN TORO ROSSO AS THEY HAVE A BASE IN FAENZA, REDBULL DONT HAVE A BASE IN FAENZA. Please just read what I have stated. Even @CALLE.ITW has stated the same situation as I have. I can read the article over and over and over again......but its wrong
