Carlos Sainz has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Ferrari by saying he wants to win the world championship with Red Bull.
Sainz, who has outscored team mate Daniil Kvyat in every race since the Russian returned to Toro Rosso earlier this season, faces an uncertain future with both of Red Bull's senior drivers under long-term contracts.
"Many people talk about Mercedes and Ferrari but my first world championship – I would like it to be with Red Bull" said Sainz. "I don’t know how, but I’m convinced that if I show them what I need to show them they will make me some space somewhere and I will fight for a world championship with them because that’s my ultimate goal."
Despite a promotion to Red Bull Racing seeming unlikely, tensions have flared between Daniel Ricciardo and the team in recent weeks after he missed out on wins in Spain and Monaco.
The Australian is also linked with a move to Ferrari where 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen is out of contract at the end of the year.
