The 'GO K
ARTING' signage and the CIK-FIA logo are visible this weekend on the sides between the sidepods and the front suspension of both
Romain Grosjean's and
Pastor Maldonado's cars.
"We are proud to support karting this weekend in Bahrain. So many Formula 1 drivers have raced in that category in their junior years including Pastor and Romain! We have a long history of supporting and helping young talents develop and mature", said Deputy Team Principal Federico Gastaldi.
"We are always proud when our
Lotus F1 Team Junior drivers achieve well and looking after the future generations of Formula 1 drivers is key to the constant regeneration of the sport" continued Federico.
Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, President of the CIK-FIA, commended Lotus for their support right back to the very grassroots of motorsport development and thanked the team: "We greatly appreciate the opportunity to promote karting and attempt to get more people involved in the sport", he said. "And we thank Lotus F1 Team for allowing us to do this on the biggest stage in motorsport."
