American driver Jake Rosenzweig will be official driver for the Barwa Addax Team for the 2013 season after having signed for the Spanish team and teamed up with Rio Haryanto.

Jake Rosenzweig, (London April 14, 1989) started his driving career at an early age in international Karting competitions. Not only did he compete in Europe, but also in the United States. He raced a Porsche at Daytona 24 Hours and moved to Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup in 2008. In 2009 he moved up to the F3 Euroseries and after a brief spell in Auto GP in 2010 made his debut in the GP2 Asia series. He showed good form and consolidated his position in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in 2010/11. He competed for Barwa Addax Team in the final two races of the GP2 Series 2012.

Jake is really looking forward to the challenge of racing in the colours of the Barwa Addax Team for the forthcoming 2013 GP2 Series. He had the opportunity to drive for the team in Monza and Singapore last season and has taken part in the pre-season tests in Barcelona y Jerez. Jake’s experience to date in the GP2 Series makes now a good moment in his racing career to complete his first full season in GP2.

Jake is the first American to compete in GP2 Series since Scott Speed. This will attract the attention from the world of Formula 1 and complete the dream of any formula racing driver which is to make it in the top class of motor-racing.

Jake Rosenzweig: "I am excited to be joining Addax for the 2013 GP2 season and wish to thank all involved for making this possible. Having raced in the final two rounds of the 2012 championship with Addax, I know what an opportunity this represents to be working with them again. The race calendar has some great circuits and I am looking forward to hitting the ground running. I will do my best to score as many points as possible over the course of the season."

Alejandro Agag, Owner and Team Principal: "I'd like to welcome Jake Rosenzweig although he is almost part of the family after having competed in four races and done 4 complete tests with us. We are keen to count on his services because he has shown that he is willing to work very hard to improve in each and every race and training session. The whole team and everybody involved is delighted with his professional attitude. I’m sure that together we can form a good tandem of team-driver competitive enough to get closer to the leading drivers of every race."
